Gift Aid Setup
U.K. Organizations Only

TR_GIFTAID_TYPE

TR_GIFTAID_RATE

TR_GIFTAID_CONTACT_METHOD
Default values are fine here, but others can be added if needed.
TR_GIFTAID_DOCUMENT_STATUS
These are statuses that get recorded on a constituent’s declaration.
TR_GIFTAID_INELIGIBLE_REASON
Generally, there’s no need to make changes to the statuses
TR_GIFTAID_STATUS
Generally, there’s no need to make changes to the statuses
Payment Method Setup
Payment method needs “Gift Aid Indicator” checked
Fund Setup
Fund for pledge/gift needs a Gift Aid Type defined
Other Gift Aid Scope Considerations
Must be individual record (can’t be Household or Corporate customer type). It is possible to transact on the HH, but customizations need to be made to the Gift Aid Status report to properly capture GA payments. ** For TR_IMPORT_CONTRIBUTION_SET setup with pledges, DO NOT select ‘Transact as Household’ unless you’re sure the payments will be correctly reported for households.
An Individual constituent record needs a declaration defined and enabled (valid date range and ‘Eligible’ selected). Also needs the Gift Aid Type, Contact Method, and Document Status defined.
An org can only claim Gift Aid for donations made by UK registered taxpayers. In Tessitura, a ‘declaration’ is how a constituent is identified as a registered UK taxpayer.
